ILC Asia is supported by the Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) and led by a Regional Coordinator (RC). This unit is based at the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), our host organisation in Bogor, Indonesia.
CIFOR is one of the oldest members of ILC Global and has recently been our host in July 2020. CIFOR advances human well-being, equity and environmental integrity by conducting innovative research, developing partners’ capacity, and actively engaging in dialogue with all stakeholders to inform policies and practices that affect forests and people.
RCU Asia is responsible for and acts as ILC Secretariat in Asia to:
- Implement the ILC work plan in Asia under the supervision of the Asia Steering Committee (ASC)
- Prepare the annual work plan and budget under the supervision of ASC
- Serve as the secretariat to the ASC and Regional Assembly
- Ensure harmonisation and optimisation between global and regional dimensions of ILC’s work
