These proceedings detail the presentations and discussions during the two-day Land Conflict Monitoring Training organised by ANGOC and KPA in March 2020 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The training is part of the ILC and United Nations Development Programme Business and Human Rights supported initiative on “Defending Land Rights and Human Rights Defenders in Asia.”
During the training, participants were familiarised with concepts, frameworks, methodologies, and tools related to land conflict monitoring. The database, accompanying categories and definitions within it, were also finalised during the training. Partners will be monitoring land and resource conflict cases using a uniform method and tool this 2020, with hopes of continuing and further systematising land rights monitoring in their respective countries and in the region.
