This summary report highlights the key messages arisen during the webinar organised by the Central Asia Pastoralist Alliance and the South Asia Pastoralist Alliance. Both organisations are regional initiatives set in motion by ILC Asia whose advocacy objectives are to recognise and protect the diverse tenure and production systems upon which people’s livelihoods depend, including the communal and customary tenure systems of pastoralists.
The report addresses the struggles that pastoralists in countries such as Kyrgyzstan, India, and Mongolia are facing due to the pandemic, from limited access to markets to sell their products to shortage of food.
