This revised version of ILC Asia Strategy is carried out through different stages. The Asia Steering Committee agreed that we need to consider the precarious geopolitical context that might have affected our movement in pursuing people-centered land governance. We also enriched the strategy with lessons learned from implementing ILC's Triennial Work Plan 2016-2018 and the Bandung Declaration created during the 2018 Global Land Forum.
Most of the analysis made in the ILC Asia Strategy 2016-2021 is still relevant today, but the response to the situation requires changes to ensure acceleration of goal achievement, mainstreaming of land rights in Asia, building synergies of regional organisations, strong capacity, stability and quality of internal regional governance and the availability of funds to support ILC Asia platforms.
