What is the Asia Land Forum?
The 2025 Asia Land Forum (ALF) serves as a key annual platform addressing a wide range of land-related issues in the region. It raises awareness about people’s rights to land and promotes effective, inclusive collaboration with governments at national and regional levels.
Asia Land Forum (ALF) is a unique space for ILC members and partners to learn, share, and synergize to network, find solutions, and build collaboration, solidarity, and partnership towards a people-centered land governance in the region. Thus, ALF brings together the members of the ILC in Asia, and other stakeholders ranging from
peasants, Indigenous Peoples, pastoralists, local communities, and family farmers representing their constituency organizations, international and regional NGOs, research institutes, and multilateral government agencies. The forum creates opportunities to learn from and highlights the importance of land rights in addressing global challenges such as land conflict, climate, and biodiversity crisis, increasing inequalities, shrinking democracies, and unsustainable food systems while recognizing the important role played by women, land, and environmental defenders, IPs, Pastoralists, Peasants and family farmers as a crosscutting theme.
