ILC Asia member the Rural Development Fund (RDF) is helping local communities who are severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic to gain moral support through a helpline. The initiative Kadam, which means a step, was first launched in mid-July and will be made available until mid-August.
Community members can reach out to the helpline to speak to psychologists, spiritual practitioners of traditional Kyrgyz culture, and Islamic religious leaders in case they need emotional support in difficult times like these. The helpline is available on various instant messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram. The confidentiality of each conversation is taken seriously due to the sensitive nature of the service.
